Sometimes bookmarks stop working. There are numerous reasons why a bookmark could stop working. Something as simple as the browser updated or the URL updated could cause issues. Other times the bookmarks could just become corrupt or be using a cookie for the site that is no longer accepted. Regardless of the reason, you will know if you are having this trouble because you generally will end up with a webpage that says failed to connect when you click your bookmark it could look similar to the image below. The simplest way to fix this is to remove the bookmark and then re-add a bookmark. To do this follow the steps below.
.) Click the bad bookmark. Even though it will not load the page it should still have the star button on the URL (Bookmark Star)
.) Click the star to un-bookmark it. You as well can do this from your bookmark manager if you would prefer that.
.) Next, on Google Chrome settings options you need to clear your cache. If you do not know how to clean your cache click HERE
.) Once you have cleared your cache you simply need to go to the URL of the site that you want to bookmark. For instance, if you wanted to bookmark your Office365 you would go to portal.office.com and log in then you would choose the bookmark star and the new bookmark should be good to go!
