Difference Between Netef and Linewize Blocking a Student

Students can be blocked from websites from either our district wide internet filter Linewize and/or from our classroom management software NetRef. It is important to understand the difference between these two blocks, as you have the ability to control if a student can bypass a NetRef block, but not a Linewize block.


You can tell if a student is being blocked through NetRef or Linewize by the block message they recieve.


A NetRef block will contain "net-ref.com" in the page URL and look like the following screenshot:


A Linewize Block will contain the Little Miami Panther's logo as well as the Linewize graphic as seen in the following screenshot:


If a student is being blocked from a website through NetRef that you would like them to access, you can allow them by sending the student an Allow command from your class manager in NetRef.


If a student is being blocked through LineWize, you will need to submit a Tech Ticket so we can determine why our filter is blocking them.
